How AANA’s Use of Collaboration and Teamwork Led to Success in 2018
Collaboration. Teamwork. These terms characterized what was a year of many achievements for AANA in 2018, which were essentially the building blocks for continued successes.
Consider the collaboration that was poured into AANA’s education last year alone: Partnerships with medical companies such as VirtaMed assisted with AANA’s ability to offer state-of-the-art arthroscopic education via virtual reality technology which in turn launched AANA’s new simulation room. Partnerships with contributing experts aided in producing the 100 clinically relevant questions you see in AANA’s ASAP Sports Medicine Version 5 Program. And teaming up with other organizations such as SOMOS, AAOS and AOSSM resulted in relevant courses that laid the groundwork for continued surgical skills learning.
It was through teamwork with other orthopaedic societies that AANA’s advocacy efforts were strengthened. Because of AANA’s collaborative efforts with other organizations, several clinical practice guidelines were developed and enhanced, much to the benefit of not only practitioners, providers and insurers but also to the benefit of your patients.
You can even find collaboration woven throughout AANA’s Membership in the partnership that’s developed between AANA and its members. The content that’s displayed at lab courses, meetings and even on AANA’s online education platforms is developed through a partnership with our members. AANA’s Membership is essentially a community where members can exchange different insights and techniques that in return benefit their careers and patients.
2018 was a year defined by collaboration for AANA, and that same collaborative approach will be applied not only in 2019, but also in the following years to come. After all, AANA can do more and achieve more with established relationships between different companies, organizations and, most importantly, its members.
