Day 3: ABC Medical Center April 27, 2023 / By AANA / 1 Comment Day Three (Wednesday) in Mexico City started with an early run as Site Host Diego Perez-Salazar Marina, M.D. went above and beyond leading Theodore Shybut, M.D., FAANA and Peter Vezeridis, M.D. around Parque La Mexicana. The 2023 AANA Traveling Fellows’ “Nothing Beats Having Fun” continues inside the Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. The Traveling Fellows and Godfather truly enjoyed the amazing combination of Art Deco architecture with visually stunning and historically significant murals from Rivera, Sequeiros, Tamayo and more. After lunch, the 2023 AANA Traveling Fellows and Godfather arrived excited to explore the Aztec Wing of the National Museum of Anthropology and enjoyed taking in some more remarkable architecture. As the 2023 AANA Traveling Fellows and Godfather complete their museum tours, they connect with each other sharing personal and professional reflections and stories, with the Traveling Fellows absorbing as much as they could from the vast experiences of Nicholas Sgaglione, M.D. It was time to set off to the Polanco neighborhood for dinner with their hosts where they thanked them warmly for their generosity, hospitality and thoughtfulness in putting together a memorable, educational and impactful visit. The Traveling Fellows would gladly extend their stay with their gracious hosts and look forward to seeing them in New Orleans!
